Finally something to help those of us that never really mastered that highschool foreign language!  It’s called the ECTACO Partner ES800.  This awesome little device (about 6.6 x 3.9 x 0.9in) is a revolutionary. It’s expandable bilingual dictionary is one the biggest around; containing over 1,010,00 words. The audio phrase book isn’t anything to sneeze at either; containing state-of-the art speech recognization and advanced voice capabilties powered by the latest TTS (Text-to-speech) technology.  It contains a high-resolution color touch-display and state of the art linguistic tools.  This amazing little device is packed with information and tools to help master foreign language skills. You can have yours personally built to transluate any to languages you choose.  However, it comes with a price.  The Spanish to English I looked at costs a pretty penny of $499.95.  But in all reality, learning foreign language could prove to be invaluable- in both the work place and daily living.  If you’re really interested just look at it as an investment.

Podcasting in the Classroom

Podcasting in Education

Podcasting is becoming a valuable tool to many in the world of education.  Podcasting is defined as  the method of distributing multimedia files, such as audio or video programs, over the internet using syndication feeds, for playback on mobile devices and personal computers. Professors are already starting to podcast their lectures.  It will prove to be invaluable to students are unable to attend class due to illness or some other emergency.  The only down fall that I can see is students not seeing the purpose of attending class all together.  If that was to happen students could lose the interaction, social skills and team work skills that are obtained in the classroom setting. However, the youth of today are so technological advanced that this may be the only to keep their attention.
